A wide range of chemicals are used in aquaculture,including antibiotics, pesticides, hormones, anesthetics,various pigments, minerals, and vitamins. The concernsabout the use of chemicals center on both their potentialeffects on human health and on natural ecosystems. Thesecompounds may accumulate in aquacultured fish throughcontaminated feed ingredients while also; certain biocides(e.g. Irgarol) are applied directly to the water inaquaculture ponds to control weeds and algae. It is,therefore, needed to collect data on these chemicals for abetter knowledge of its fate in natural waters and for therisk assessment. The aim of this work was to develop anefficient method on the basis of solid phase extraction(SPE) technique for the determination of antifoulingcompounds and pesticides such as Irgarol 1051,Azamethiphos, and Deltamethrin in aquaculture sea watersamples. Sea water collected from Epirus region (North-Western Greece), was used to validate an analyticalmethod. Analysis was carried out with ultra-highperformance liquid chromatography (UHPLC) highresolutionOrbitrap mass spectrometry.
