Pd/Graphene catalysts for electrochemical reduction of carbon dioxide were prepared by means of sodium borohydride reduction of PdCl2 in a graphene oxide suspension, and characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), Raman spectra and Cyclic Voltammetry (CV). The reaction was invested in a diaphragm electrolysis device, using Pd/Graphene gas-diffusion electrode as a cathode and a Ti/IrO2/RuO2 net anode. The main product in present system was formic acid. High electrocatalytic activity of Pd/Graphene for the CO2 conversion appeared. The faradaic efficiency of formic acid was 75% in 0.5 mol/ L KHCO3 electrolyte.
