We recently reported that continuous exposure to 60 Hz elelctromagnetic field (EMF) of 0.1 or 0.5 mT for 8 weeks might induce testicular germ cell apoptosis in mice [1]. In that report, the 60 Hz MF exposure did not significantly affect the body weight or the testicular weight, but significantly decreased testicular biopsy score,and increased testicular germ cell apoptosis. Furthermore, we found that apoptosis of testicular gerni cells was increased after continuous exposure to 14 pT for 16 weeks [2]. In the. present study, we aimed to characterize 'the effect' of 60 Hz MF on the motility, morphology and number, a sperm- as well as the apoptosis of testicular germ cell in miee after continuous exposure Tor 20 weeks.
