A MICROWORLD FOR TEACHING NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT

Senge has discussed the concept of 'MicroWorlds', or 'Management Flight Simulators', as the key technology in Learning Organizations. The literature addressing simulation design for effective pedagogy was reviewed and recommendations were blended to develop a management simulation for teaching best practice in New Product Development. This paper describes the simulation and highlights the features that make it an effective learning environment. Initial classroom evaluations are summarized.
