Composites with resorbable matrix modified with hydroxyapatite are very attractive materials for bone surgery. However, uniform distribution of dispersed particles in polymer matrix is difficult to be obtained in such materials. The particles, particularly of nanometric size, tend to agglomerate due to high surface energy. Due to their agglomeration, mechanical properties of composites are decreased. This paper was aimed to test the impact of method of obtaining composite biomaterials with poly(lactide-co-glycolide) matrix modified with nanohydroxyapatite upon their homogeneity. The influence of polymer matrix solvent type and applied dispersants on nanometric modifier was analysed. These studies enabled to optimize the time of solutions homogenisation with the use of ultrasound head.
