Human embryonic stem cells (hESC) provide an unlimited source of cells to study the function and development of cells and tissues that have poor regenerative capacity, e.g. cardiac tissue. Besides basic research, cardiac stem cell applications could be used ir pharmacological studies and cell replacement therapies in the future. Our goal is to find a suitable biomaterial which would support cardiomyocyte (CM) differentiation and growth, and provide tissue-like structures [1].
