Components of the tissue specific extracellular matrix linked or adsorbed to biomaterial surfaces show a high potential to control cell response and bone healing around implants and increase overall implant stability [1]. For osteoporotic bone, additional influencing factors are an imbalance in bone metabolism and in treated cases the (hormone) therapy applied to counteract it.
