An operator's approach to 'traceable, verifiable and complete' pipeline data

IN JANUARY 2011, PHMSA issued an Advisory Bulletin to remind operators of gas and hazardous liquid pipeline facilities of their responsibilities to perform detailed threat and risk analyses that integrate accurate data and information from their pipeline system; this is especially pertinent to data required to calculate MAOP. The bulletin noted that records used to calculate MAOP must be "traceable, verifiable and complete."—with emphasis on "traceable."
