Tertiary and over-regional maxillofacial services can be faced with a large spectrum of surgical conditions of the anterior skull-base, with the possibility of a multitude of complications, in particular those of vessels and nerves. We describe as accurately as possible the course of the frontal branch of the facial nerve and recommend a standardised approach for any surgical team.The craniomaxillofacial surgeon as a member of the head and neck team (neuro-surgeon, OMF-surgeon. ENT-surgeon and opththalmic surgeon) has a specific region of interest, due to established referral patterns
