Web GIS-based Map Service System in the Realization of 3G Platform

摘要

The mobile communication device has become an important means of information exchange and availability and a rich set of function, most of them support image browsing, information input and so on. Soon after the framework of the Digital Earth is put forward, the U.S. government asks the phone handset manufacturers must provide a map browsing interface to display the electronic map on the user's handheld terminal. To be predicted, in any place and any time, access to network for all kinds of information will become the common requirement of mankind in this century. At the same time, as people's living standards improved and the rate of travel raised, dependence on the map service system is also increasing. Particularly, the emergence of 3G mobile phones provides a new platform for people to use the mapping service system. In this paper, WebGIS-based map service system in the realization of 3G platform elaborated.
