摘要

Magnetic levitation (maglev) is amongst the most developed transportation systems. Whereas there is no contact between vehicle and guideway and passenger transportation can be achieved in a very fast and comfortable manner. Besides all advantages of maglev systems, its utilization may encounter some risks during operation. One of main topics in maglev safety assessment is related to its Operation Control System (OCS) capabilities. The OCS comprises all technical facilities for planning, monitoring and safeguarding of vehicles operation. Another important issue in proper maglev systems operation is reliability, availability, maintainability and safety (RAMS). These are the items that need to be considered in any new maglev system establishment. In the current paper, parallel to feasibility studies for a longdistance maglev route at national level namely Mashhad-Tehran (M-T) maglev project, safety requirements of the project is discussed in detail. Based on hands-on experiences with different safety issues in railway transportation and by thorough review of professional documents, it is attempted to reach to a safety and risk assessment procedure that can best fit to the project at hand. In this regard, RAMS framework with focus on safety concepts in OCS has been investigated.
