With the fast development of computer science since the 1990s, great progress has been made in the study of numerical calculating method which has been applied to such discipline as Rock Mechanics. There are many advantages in analyzing geo-stress field of oil or gas reservoir by the method of three-dimensional numerical calculation. With a typical example, this paper demonstrates how to apply three-dimensional finite-difference calculation method to geo-stress field analysis of oil or gas reservoir. The fundamental principle and implementation method are also explored in this paper. Through comparing calculated results with measured values, it shows that by the method of large-scale three-dimensional numerical calculation, not only geo-stress of oil or gas reservoir can be combined, in research, with regional geological condition and tectonic evolution, but three-dimensional stress state of the whole oil or gas reservoir can be obtained. Thus, reliability of the calculated results is relatively high.
