摘要

The use of a high-high strategy, wherein both MS1 and MS2 spectra are acquired in Orbitrap, facilitates unambiguous identification of PTMs. With increasing organism complexity, it becomes important to cluster proteins that cannot be distinguished from the available peptide evidence. The three microbial species investigated exhibit methylation, acetylation, and phosphorylation in their expressed proteomes. P. trichocarpa is a highly complex system which has distinct level of PTM regulation in each of the three plant parts studied in this work.
