To Digest or Not to Digest, That's the Question

As an extension of the established Top-Down imaging strategy, this Bottom-Up ImageID workflow can facilitate the identification and simultaneous localization of a much greater number of proteins than it was previously possible. In this work we used ImageID in a targeted way to further develop the description of a well established cancer marker (CRIP 1 for treatment selection and survival prognosis for various cancers [Baumhoer et al. 2011 Oncotarget 2 No. 12]). Top -Down provided the detection of CRIP1 forms on the protein level that were IDed as CRIP1 methylation variants using ImageID. Top -Down and Bottom-Up imaging in combination is a powerful tool to obtain complementary information by far exceeding what each imaging modality alone could provide.
