A MALDI/C_(60) SIMS dual ion source Q-TOF mass spectrometer for chemical imaging: Design and system characterization

摘要

1. A dual ion source C_(60)~+-SIMS/MALDI Q-TOF mas spectrometer was developed. 2. Analytical performance characteristics were established: high mass accuracy (～10 ppm) and resolution (R > 8,000) with tandem MS and imaging confirmed to ～10 μm resolution. 3. Intact biomolecules were detected for biofilms and neurobiology studies. 4. Biological model systems were chemically imaged (e.g., rat and A. californica neurons). 5. Single-cell imaging was demonstrated with A. californica neurons.
