1. UHMS improves resolution and mass precision by x 100. 2. UHMS resolution and sensitivity does not decrease with increasing m/z 3. High resolution was obtain at 500 kDa. Mass range detector limited. 4. UHMS yields better resolution and mass precision for intact proteins than multiply -charging ions and measuring their mass by TOF. Analysis is simplified and the mass range is greatly improved. 5. UHMS yields better nominal mass measurement than FT -ICR because of superior signal to noise. UHMS accessible mass range superior to FT -ICR. 6. Expect further mass range improvement.
