1. Combination of negative and positive ion mode fragmentation information is required for the identification and structural characterization of terpene glycosides. 2. Sesquiterpene glycosylation happens: (1) At primary, secondary or at both positions of terpenoid core; (2) By further elongation of glucose chain. 3. Glycosylation pattern indicates the involvement of multiple glucosyl transferase enzymes in the synthesis of these molecules. 4. Different S. habrochaites accessions display preference toward the isomer they synthesize and groups of plants can be identified that synthesize only certain groups of isomers.
