1. PDMS oligomers dissolved into MeOH or ACN. A SIM scan mode is recommended for ion traps. 2. ACN is more soluble in PDMS and this and/or an improve analyte partitioning, apparently allows for better permeation and concentrating of aniline (~8X) than a receiving phase of methanol. 3. Stop-flow analysis shows a signal improvement, but with diminishing returns as the loading time increased to 40 mins. 4. For a 40min load period into acetonitrile, 0.1% acetic acid, the signal for aniline is increased by ~3X. 5. Our PI source ionizes benzene, but further tests and a different membrane material may be required to detect benzene in water with MIMS ESPI.
