Shotgun proteomic analysis indicates that Homer2 deletion alters global protein expression. Differential display analyses identified the differential expression of Homer2 associated proteins. These data suggest that differentially expressed proteins provide a readout as to the downstream functional effectors of Homer2 protein. Use a subset of these differentially expressed proteins in multiplexed selection reaction monitoring (SRM) analysis in other brain regions during the time course of well-described paradigms for excessive alcohol drinking and withdrawal.
