Adding a mobility separation step to the MS~(E) approach can be achieved with no compromise to the experiment with regards to the data quality obtained and the time required to perform the analysis. The resulting increase in experimental data causes challenges in processing and analysis of these large datasets The apporach results in more peptides / proteins being identified. The quality of the product ion spectra obtained is significantly improved. The detection of early-eluting, low molecular weight peptides is improved in the mobilityenabled experiment. The approach offers significant promise for the future.
