In this study we examined the ability of label-free shotgun proteomics to reveal changes in the protein response to UV radiation in both HeLa and MCF-10A cells. At least 40 proteins with more than 2 fold changes before and after treatment were detected. Furthermore, a comparison of the label-free with TMT quantitation indicates that the two methods give similar results when characterizing changes in protein abundance in this sample set.
