Equine exotic disease control

Within Government, control of exotic disease outbreaks in animals is the responsibility of the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra). Responsibility for disease control also falls to the industry, to vets and to individual owners.The aim of this presentation is to explain the rationale behind Government control of disease outbreaks, how such an eventuality is prepared for and what will happen if an equine exotic disease outbreak occurs.
