Beach changes off Imakiri-guchi training jetty located at the tidal inlet of Lake Hamanawere investigated on the basis of the sounding data. An ebb tidal delta was formed by thecombined effect of waves and ebb tidal currents through this inlet. A model for predictingformation of the ebb tidal delta under the combined effect of waves and ebb tidal currentswas developed based on the model given by Serizawa et al. (2006) with an analogy of thevelocity distribution of ebb tidal currents to the wave diffraction coefficient, which iscalculated using the angular spreading method of irregular waves. Predicted results werein good agreement with the measured values.
