Several negative signs or symptoms in cancer patients can require a patient to be hospitalized. These signs or symptoms may occur prior to diagnosis, during treatment, or after treatment. Understanding the potential risks and reactions chemotherapy agents can cause will help technicians identify a negative reaction quickly. Initial diagnostics performed to identify the severity of these abnormal signs and symptoms may include CBC, serum chemistries, urinalysis, three view thoracic radiographs, abdominal ultrasound, CT/MRI, cytology, histopathology, and many others.
