This paper explores the merits of undergraduate research experiences (URE) in the Chinese business curriculum.These experiences help students adapt to new problem situations after study - students leam "how to learn".We report preliminary findings about the universities that offer URE.We analyzed manuscripts and websites provided by 28 leading universities in Mainland China,Hong Kong and Taiwan.Although the idea is discussed in the light of recent educational reforms,implementations are rare.We explore factors that can make those programs successful - taking into account our experiences in the U.S.and Germany.
