CARBON MAPPI NG OF AGROFORESTRY SYSTEMS IN THE BRAZILIAN AMAZON THROUGH SATELLITE IMAGES

摘要

The vegetation indices tested have positive and significant correlation with the carbon stocked in the epigeous biomass in the different agroforestry systems at the study region. The results obtained enabled the generation of carbon maps of the region, which may subsidize sustainable rural development. We suggest that new studies are conducted using other vegetation indices with the objective of confirming and expanding the correlation values observed for carbon at each agroforestry class.
