Due to their exceptional hydrogen separation capabilities, Pd and its alloy membranes have been used to study extensively for the water gas shift reaction and steam reforming of hydrocarbon in membrane reactors, where these catalytic reactions and product separation occur simultaneous -ly. By removing the produced H2 through Pd-based membranes, the equilibrium of catalytic reactions is shifted.
