In recent years a substantial research effort has been performed in order to develop reliable methods for the evaluation of existing buildings in seismic areas. The paper presents the application a full probabilistic assessment procedure developed by Cornell & al. [1] that takes into account the uncertainty in the characteristics that structural performance depends on. These factors mainly refer to material properties and ground motion characteristics. The randomness in response is also accounted for. The procedure has been applied to determine the structural performance for a widely spread category of buildings in Romania, namely the industrial single level precast halls. Three structures have been selected as examples. The procedure proved to be feasible for this type of structures and the results encourage the authors to extend the application of the procedure for the entire domain of industrial halls.
