Minimally Invasive Palatoplasty.

摘要

A consequence of all palatal surgeries is impairment of maxillofacial growth, leading to secondary deformities which typically require surgical correction. Mendoza developed a minimal incision technique in the early 1990's which utilized only a medial edge incision. Preliminary published results suggest that midfacial growth is superior using these techniques. For the past 5 years, a modification of the minimal incision technique has been used at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center.
