In this paper, a procedure which uses location technology based on radio frequency identification (RFID) is proposed, to overcome the limitations of existing yield mapping systems for manual fresh fruit harvesting. Two location and matching methodologies were tested in an orchard, during a small-scale simulation of harvesting procedure. First, an RFID technology with a DGPS and, second, only an RFID system were used in order to establish each tree's geo-location and the associations between trees andthe bins involved in their harvesting. The methodologies were implemented and their accuracies and reliabilities were evaluated.
