@@BackgroundAssociation studies have been widely accepted as a promising strategy for detecting the disease susceptibility loci for common complex diseases [1]. While measuring multiple disease-related phenotypes could usually supply more information than investigating on a single phenotype, traditional methods that study the relationship between every single genotype and every single phenotype each time could counteract the advantage of multi-phenotype information. The multiple testing problem further limits the power improvement.
