The sugar Industry is passing through an unprecedented crisis due to mismatch of sugar price & sugarcane price and government policies. Farmers have diverted to other crops in absence of long term policies for sugarcane pricing. The cane cultivation has reduced to 60% specifically in U.P. Due to acute shortage of sugarcane the bagasse has become precious now a days and needs to be saved by reducing consumption of electrical and thermal energy. This can be done by introducing systematic and scientific approach to control and recover the wastages and leakages of steam, hot water and electricity. Metering/measuring/accounting of wastages and leakages in the eye opener and can be practiced in the industry.
