Telescopic-handlers are very common in today's agricultural environment. Their flexibility makes them very useful for many different tasks: loading large bales, towing trailers or handling forage are only a few examples. Due to these diverse tasks, there are high demands on the propel drive system. The combination of both hydraulics and electronics can fulfill the operator's requirements in a very economical and efficient way. Continuously variable driving speeds over the complete vehicle operating range while always having the full tractive-effort available is just one of the features. Many additional features such as vehicle speed dependent boom-dampening, overspeed protection in downhill-mode, and fan drive control including rotation reversal, could be included in the control system. The possibility to adjust the drive curve parameters in relation to the power behavior of the combustion engine is one of the essential advantages. Achieving the drive performance in regard to the expectations of the operator results in an "easy to drive" feeling.
