TCP is effective at slowing the corrosion of the Al May reduce throwing power and reduce sacrificial benefits. The CVD coating, in and of itself, does not have a detrimental effect on the K1 scc of the material. CVD Al coating is not exacerbating the cracking in 3.5% NaCl solutions. The CVD coated samples show a reduction in hardness (strength) that occurs during coating "process" which includes the 22 hours bake-out. Cadmium has superior lubricating properties especially in corrosive environments.
