Mn_3(Cu_(0.6)Nb_(0.2)Ge_(0.2))N/Epoxy composites were prepared by direct mixing the superfine NTE material Mn_3(Cu_(0.6)Nb_(0.2)Ge_(0.2)N powder and epoxy resin. Thermal expansion properties were investigated within temperature range of 77-300 K. It was found that the coefficients of thermal expansion (CTE) of composites filled with negative thermal expansion (NTE) materials Mn_3(Cu_(0.6)Nb_(0.2)Ge_(0.2))N can be significantly reduced. The addition of 20vol% NTE material to epoxy resins decreases the CTE by as much as 17% compared with that of pure epoxy resin in the temperature of 300-77 K. Our results indicate that filling with NTE material into epoxy is a promising method to decrease the CTE.
