ENHANCING THE PERFORMANCE OF AQUEOUS LOW VOC COATINGS WITH A UNIQUE NO VOC WETTING ADDITIVE

Wetting additives improve aqueous coating performance with regard to properties such as substrate wetting, surface flow and leveling, gloss and color acceptance. The importance of these additives increase as solvent is removed from coatings and the surface tension of the coating approaches that of water. Introduced is a unique surfactant that dramatically improves substrate wetting, surface flow and leveling, gloss and color acceptance in Zero and Low VOC aqueous coatings. This unique additive contributes no VOC to the finished coating and has proven effective in a variety of resin systems and coating types. Improved performance is demonstrated compared to two commercial, no VOC wetting additives.
