The importance of phytoplankton primary productivity (PPP) is described by many studies in Brazilian reservoirs (TUNDISI 1983. GIANESELLA-GALVAO 1985, TOLEDO & HAY 1988, HENRY 1993, HENRY et al. 1998, 2006). Our aim was to contribute to PPP studies in Brazilian reservoirs by comparing 2 branches of Billings Reservoir in Sao Paulo, Brazil: Rio Grande and Taquacetuba.
