GROUP DEVELOPMENT: A REVIEW OF RECURRING CYCLE MODELS

摘要

With the increased use of teams as problem solving entities in the workplace, the question of how groups develop is increasingly relevant. Understanding the natural formation and progression of groups can give insight into both the positive and negative aspects of development as related to task accomplishment. As more and more research suggests that the linear progressive models have limitations when applied to the study of development patterns of specific teams; the need for the investigation of other types of developmental models has increased. The scope of this research is to provide a comprehensive review of existing cyclical models to explain group development.
