Lymphoma presents in a variety of anatomical distributions with a variety of morphologically and functionally different cell types. This cancer is actually a heterogeneous group of malignancies with different tissue tropisms and resulting clinical behaviours This heterogeneity results from the diversity of normal cellular differentiation exhibited by lymphocytes in their normal reaction to disease, i.e. development of helper T cells, suppressor T cells, memory T cells, early B cells, plasma cells, memory B cells, etc. A lymphoma consists of a proliferation of a clone (or rarely clones) of cells arrested at a particular stage of normal lymphocyte proliferation.
