The elaboration of a PCFC half cell (Anode/Electrolyte) or symmetrical PCFC half cell (Anode/Electrolyte/Anode) by means of an organic tape casting process followed by a co-sintering step was investigated. A good chemical compatibility between BaCe0.9Y0.1O_3-α as the electrolyte material and NiO as Ni precursor for the anode cermet has been observed. The optimal sintering parameter in respect of the maximal densification of the electrolyte layer was determined to be 1450°C during 24hrs. The influence of the slurries composition was investigated to assure a well adapted morphology of the anode layer (percolation of each phase) and a good quality of the anode/electrolyte interface after co-sintering. It was possible to obtain planar bi or tri layer discs with a diameter of 20mm, a 100μm thick porous anode and 50μm thick dense electrolyte.
