Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing 100190, China Stirred tanks are frequently used in industrial mixing applications, since such vessels can provide desired level of suspension with relatively low energy cost. Over the past decades, the numerical treatment of impellers with complex geometric shapes such as pitched blade turbine and Lightnin A310 remains difficult and time consuming.
