In situ radio frequency heating (ISFRH) was operated in combination with soil vapour extraction (SVE) at a former service station in Kent (UK) characterised by unsaturated Chalk soil impacted by hydrocarbon contamination. The remediation programme consisted of six treatment stages where SVE and ISRFH were operated sequentially in combination or independently. Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) extraction was measured using a Total VOC sensor and validated using TENAX adsorption tubes and semi-quantitative GC-MS analysis. Soil sampling was carried out the beginning and at the end of the remediation process.
