摘要

Four bench-scale (200-liter) sulfate-reducing bioreactors (SRBRs) were constructed at the Iron King Mine near Cottonwood, Arizona, to evaluate this innovative technology for passively treating acid rock drainage (ARD) at a former underground copper mine. Various organic media mixtures were evaluated side by side for several months in early 2006 with the goal of identifying the most-promising recipe, flow rates and loading rates for further study and/or implementation. The SRBR cells were top-down vertical flow reactors.
