This article shows the construction by means of micro-macro transitions of a macroscopic linear model which is able to describe the wave propagation in partially saturated soils. A porous medium consisting of a deformable skeleton and compressible pore fluids (fluid and gas) is considered. Macroscopic quantities like compressibilities of solid, fluid and gas and the coupling parameters between the components are obtained by consideration of microstructural tests.
