Kestrel is an integrating product in the CREATE? program that allows crossover between simulation of aerodynamics, dynamic stability and control, structures, propulsion, and store separation. It provides a robust and accurate multi-disciplinary simulation capability targeting fixed-wing aircraft. Kestrel has been in continuous development since 2008. Since that time, the core architecture and infrastructure have proven to be robust and resilient enablers for use cases where multiple physical disciplines are active. The Kestrel computational environment aligns very well with, and in many ways validates, many of the goals outlined in the CFD Vision 2030 report recently produced by NASA. This paper details key facets of the Kestrel product as they pertain to some of the CFD Vision 2030 goals. The Kestrel User Interface (KUI) and Common Scalable Infrastructure (CSI), along with various physics components to include the core flow solver components, are discussed as a battle-hardened approach to multi-disciplinary simulations. Enabling technologies such as the Kestrel Software Development Kit (SDK) and various run-time environment tools are also reviewed. A number of example simulations are also provided as a demonstration of Kestrel capabilities that closely relate to the CFD Vision 2030 goals.
