Vibration arising from running train or road traffics propagates through soil resulting in a ground vibration in their neighborhood. Such ground Vibration as well as psychologically adverse effects on the in habitants around its source. In order to develop an effective and practical method against ground vibration, the authors tried to apply a countermeasure method by scrap tire isolation wall using the structure that a steel pipes and a PHC piles were arranged in the central part of the pressed-type scrap tire. Field tests that Vibration source using heavy weight dropping were carried out to evaluate the effectiveness with press-type scrap tire barrier. In this field test, at the frequencies for 40Hz and 60Hz, Vibration level as registered on the off-side of the scrap tire barrier were 7.7dB and 16.6dB lower than that recorded at the site with no such barrier, and in the second experiment, the case only as for the vibration source that using heavy equipment, was suggested possibility of anchoring effect.
