In order to evaluate the effect of Beijing Rail Transit train noise on passengers, the coach interior noise of trains on the Line 1、 Line 2、 Line 5 and Line 13 of the Beijing Rail Transit system has been measured, a questionnaire survey has also been conducted. The selected lines are the major part of Beijing Rail Transit system, and comprised by typical lines from the oldest to the most modern. Passenger flows of each line are big. Moreover, the investigated trains include all type trains of Beijing Rail Transit system. Measurement results indicate the coach interior noise levels don't exceed limit values listed in criteria. Results of the questionnaire survey show the coach interior noise can make some passengers feel annoyed and uncomfortable, and the average degrees of annoyance and discomfort are "moderate" and "slight" respectively. Through the questionnaire survey, the percentage of passengers annoyed by coach interior noise is also obtained.
