An experiment using TMD for reducing low-frequency sounds generated by bridge vibrations

The following is a result of an experiment conducted on an actual bridge to learn to how TMD's (Tuned Mass Damper) can reduce emission of low-frequency sounds generated by heavy vehicles passing though elevated roads. A preliminary measurement and the simulation were done before the experiment, and the effect of 6dB or more was expected. In an actual experiment, the attenuation of 6dB was observed though the increase by the frequency not anticipated was observed.
