Sound insulation performance is one of essential element of various kinds factor that accomplish amenity of housing life in residential building. Specially, Korean habitat is represented into apartment. it is trend that importance of privacy and noise problem between habitable rooms are emphasized much more in these habitat. In this paper, sound insulation performance is tested to analyze dry-wall system applied steel plate panel or soundproofing steel stud for sound insulation. Summarized evaluation result is the same as following. Sound performance evaluation about total 5 dry-wall system was tested. the kind of specimen is (1) double steel stud+steel plate panel(180mm), (2) double steel stud+steel plate panel(200mm), (3) double steel stud(200mm), (4) double steel stud+steel plate panel+thick gypsum board(200mm), (5) soundproofing steel stud+steel plate panel(200mm). Sound insulation testing result is the same as following. In case of most specimen, sound insulation performance is 56dB to 58dB for the single-number quantity for airbone sound(Rw+C). It is appeared that sound insulation performance (between specimen 2 and 3) is improved by coincidence effect of high frequency area in drywall system applied steel plate panel. It is appeared that sound insulation performance is improved slightly by increasement of inerior cavity(between specimen 1 and 3) and gypsum board (between specimen 4 and 3) thickness Also, performance of specimen that apply soundproofing steel stud (between specimen 5 and 3) decreases in high frequency area, but it is appeared that sound insulation performance is superior in low and middle frequency area.
