Today some States have not formally approved the use of GPS in their airspace and/or not published the approval status. This leads to a growing uncertainty with regard to permissible use of new GNSS elements (constellations, signals, SBAS), which may not be introduced and/or approved at the same time in different States. All States should approve all GNSS elements and not mandate specific GNSS elements. On-going debate between States, industry, aircraft operators and ANSPs on the approval of GNSS elements.
